Requirement: The Lazaat Restaurant Bar and Hotel on the outskirts of Hull offers a unique combination of Persian-influenced Asian cuisine and stylish, exquisitely designed accommodation set in large grounds. The luxurious interiors live up to the venue’s name, which comes from a Persian word meaning “an experience of all the senses”.

When it opened, the Lazaat’s owners were keen to make full use of all the space available to them. They decided to install a large marquee in the grounds, which could be booked for weddings, barbecues, exhibitions, conferences and private parties. Housing up to 250 people, the marquee needed to be fully self-contained, which meant complete toilet facilities had to be provided, separate from the main hotel and restaurant building.

Solution: After researching potential suppliers for the toilet facilities, the Lazaat management selected Portaloo, as its buildings represented the best value for the high quality facilities available.

The marquee was to be available for bookings between April and October, and a large Portaloo male-female unit was hired to cover this period. It was delivered on the agreed date, in line with the Portaloo Customer Charter promise to deliver all buildings on time and on budget. The unit was sited right next to the marquee on pre-prepared concrete foundations, and was fully installed by the Portaloo team. During the busy summer season, the marquee hosted 24 weddings and was used at least two or three times a week for various functions.

Lazaat General Manager Maurizio De Martino, says: “It was a great success, and we had absolutely no problems with the toilet facilities throughout this busy period. They are very easy to clean, look after and maintain. They were delivered complete with all the necessary appliances, dispensers, paper towels and mirrors that we would need. So once they were sited exactly where we wanted them, they were ready for use immediately".

“The Portaloo unit offered very good build quality and finishing. We were so pleased with it that we have hired it again for this year – and we’re expecting an even busier season, with more than 20 weddings booked already.”
