BUILDING ACCREDITATIONS:

BBA (British Board of Agrément)
The BBA provides authoritative, independent information on the performance of building products. Under BBA assessment, Portakabin buildings undergo rigorous structural tests - giving you the assurance that they meet permanent building regulations and provide outstanding performance. Our BBA certification confirms our buildings' compliance with the Building Regulations (England, Wales and Northern Ireland), the Building Standards (Scotland) and other permanent building standards.

LABC (Local Authority Building Control)
LABC specialises in developing fast-track routes through the regulatory procedures for standard buildings, modular buildings or building systems. All Local Authorities in England and Wales are members of LABC. Approval of our buildings by LABC assures you that they meet rigorous, repeatable standards.

CE mark
Portakabin is the only modular building supplier to win approval to display the CE mark. Portakabin Ultima, Titan and Solus buildings have gained European Technical Approval (ETA) which gives them the right to bear the CE mark. The CE mark is now mandatory in Continental Europe and is only awarded after the completion of exhaustive product tests. It means you can buy these modular buildings throughout Europe, safe in the knowledge that they meet the very latest structural guidelines.

5-year product warranty
All new buildings purchased from Portakabin come with a 5-year product warranty. This covers the external fabric of the building, which includes the steel structure itself, the floor, walls and roof panels, as well as the external windows and doors. It gives you the peace of mind that if a fault ever occurs with the building fabric during the warranty period, any faulty parts will be repaired or replaced at no extra cost.

20-year structural warranty
Our comprehensive 20-year structural warranty covers the structural, load-bearing elements of the building. These are the external walls, floors, roofs and columns - assuring you that your building will remain structurally sound. In the unlikely event of any structural failure, you have the reassurance that we will repair or replace the element at fault.

LPCB (Loss Prevention Certification Board)
This certification, awarded to the Ultima modular building system, provides assurance that the building system has been thoroughly fire tested and meets LPCB requirements for spread of flame. It provides assurance to insurers that the spread of any fire within the building will be minimised, reducing the extent of damage to the building and its contents.

CSTB
This is the independent building certification standard in France, which provides assurance that Portakabin buildings meet all relevant French building regulations.

KOMO
This is the independent building certification standard in The Netherlands, which provides assurance that Portakabin buildings meet all relevant Dutch building regulations.

ATG
This is the independent building certification standard in Belgium, which provides assurance that Portakabin buildings meet all relevant Belgian building regulations.

ISO 9001
The ISO 9001 certification of our Quality Management System assures you of the consistent quality standards you can expect from our products at all times.

ISO 14001
Portakabin has achieved the ISO 14001 accreditation for high standards of environmental management and commitment to environmental responsibility. For our customers, this means that the environmental impact of any Portakabin products you hire or buy is reduced through the successful implementation of an Environmental Management System.

Dun and Bradstreet credit rating of 1
Portakabin has been awarded a credit score rating of 1 by Dun and Bradstreet. This rating puts Portakabin in the top 15% of UK companies, with a very low probability of business failure. We believe we are the only modular building supplier to achieve such a high credit rating. That gives you the assurance that we're here to stay and will be around to service your building and provide ongoing support services, for the long term.

Zurich Approved supplier
Zurich Municipal, the UK's largest insurer of Local Education Authority buildings, has appointed Portakabin as its approved supplier of interim accommodation. The contract award followed a comprehensive research and evaluation process to ensure that Zurich customers would receive the best value for money and a supplier they could rely on.

Government Procurement Service 
A four-year framework agreement awarded by Government Procurement Service (an executive agency of the Cabinet Office) for the supply of modular buildings to the public sector, means that Portakabin products, services and full turn-key packages have been rigorously assessed and independently adjudged to offer excellent quality and value for money.

The agreement simplifies the procurement process for publicly-funded organisations, significantly reducing both cost and time.  As part of the new framework, customers selecting Portakabin will benefit from rapid procurement and cost-effective modular building solutions, avoiding costly, compulsory competitive tendering.

CHAS (Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme)
Our accreditation by CHAS means that you won't have to carry out lengthy assessments of our health and safety performance when you choose to work with Portakabin. As a CHAS-accredited supplier, our health and safety policies, systems and procedures have been rigorously assessed by independent specialists - so you don't have to.

Constructionline
Constructionline is a Government scheme that maintains the UK's largest database of pre-qualified contractors and consultants. Our accreditation by Constructionline gives you the assurance that our technical and financial systems have been independently assessed and approved.

NICEIC (National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting)
Portakabin is a member of the NICEIC, the UK electrical contracting industry's independent voluntary body. It regulates electrical contractors and offers approved certification services that are recognised throughout all industries. Portakabin provides full NICEIC certification for all electrical installations before your building is handed over, at no extra cost to you.

PORTAKABIN AWARDS:

Superbrand
Each year, the 'Top 500' Superbrand list is published in the national and trade press, and in the Superbrands publication. Portakabin has achieved Superbrand status for our quality products, reliability and distinction. Our rankings have improved year-on-year since 2008 when we were ranked at 258. The following year we rose to 233 in the list and in 2010 we reached 191, reflecting our success in continuously improving our products and services.

Millennium Products
The Portakabin Lilliput nursery building system was awarded Millennium Products status by the Design Council for "providing a stimulating educational environment from a child's viewpoint". It was the only modular building system to receive the award.

Civic Trust Awards
The Lilliput nursery has been awarded a Civic Trust Award. These awards are presented to outstanding examples of architecture and environmental design.
