Canterbury Children's Centre
Customer: Canterbury Children's Centre
Location: Canterbury
Requirement: With the occupation of a new permanent building not expected for five months, Portakabin had supplied the Canterbury Children's Centre and nursery school in Bradford with a 175m² interim building that provides an excellent learning and play environment for the children. However, as part of this full turnkey building solution, the centre also required an automatic fire detection system to ensure a safe and secure learning environment.
Solution: Portakabin Protecta installed a complete fire detection system, designed around the specific requirements of the building. Optical fire detectors were installed in the main teaching area, and heat detectors were installed towards the rear of the building, where a diverse range of activities takes place. The fire detection system complies with all relevant regulations, with emergency exit lighting, an electronic alarm, fire panel, call points and relevant signage.
"It's reassuring to know we have a good fire detection system in place, as it allows us to get on with our core business of teaching the children. We're very pleased with the Portakabin Protecta fire detection system and technical support we have received throughout the installation and testing period."
