Do Portakabin classroom buildings meet building regulations?
Yes. Portakabin buildings provide learning environments that meet the requirements of The Building Regulations, The Building Standards (Scotland), The Building Regulations (Northern Ireland) and other permanent building standards. They also have Local Authority Building Control and British Board of Agrément approval.

How many pupils can I accommodate?
The Portakabin double classroom can accommodate 60 pupils, in two classes of 30. If you need to accommodate more pupils we have a range of alternative education accommodation for any number of staff or students, from one to more than 1,000. Our team will be happy to advise you on the most suitable building size and layout for the number of pupils you need to accommodate.

What is the average delivery time for a classroom or school building?
Whether you choose to hire or buy, we can react quickly to the most urgent accommodation needs, installing some buildings in a matter of days. On average, delivery time will range from just a few days for a hired Portakabin classroom, to a few weeks for a large, multi-storey school.

Can you do the groundworks for the building?
Yes, we can do the groundworks to provide a one-stop-shop solution.

Do Portakabin buildings meet fire regulations?
All Portakabin buildings are designed to meet Part B regulations, with half-hour fire resistance. This can be increased to one hour, if required.

Is Portakabin educational accommodation built to the recommendations of Building Bulletin 82, 87 and the Construction Standards for Schools?
Yes. Your educational building from Portakabin will be designed in conjunction with all these requirements, to ensure students benefit from a stimulating and motivational learning environment.

How do you deal with security in schools?
We can provide a wide range of security options for your building, from intruder alarms to CCTV. Just ask our team and they will be happy to help.

Do Portakabin buildings meet the DDA, SENDA and Part M of the Building Regulations?
Portakabin buildings can meet the requirements of these regulations and the obligations of the DDA. However, your precise requirements will be project specific. You should seek clarification of these requirements from your local Building Control department before finalising your accommodation solution.
