Requirement: As part of the NHS's "Improving Working Lives" initiative, Morecambe Bay NHS Trust needed to help staff achieve a healthy work-life balance, which included offering good quality, affordable, on-site childcare. The Trust needed a quick solution, as they had less than six months to get the nurseries up and running, but they didn't want to compromise on quality.

Solution: Portakabin designed two Lilliput nurseries to provide full day-care at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary and Furness General Hospital (Barrow-in-Furness). The 58-place nurseries currently care for 52 children, with more joining each week. Both of the Morecambe Bay nurseries are now operated by Kids Unlimited, on behalf of the NHS Trust.
