Portakabin seminars help deliver a sure start

Leading modular building supplier Portakabin is running a number of seminars to help those responsible deliver value-for-money Children’s Centres on time and on budget.

The six half-day seminars will take place at various locations across the country from 24 – 26 October and 14 – 16 November, and will each be run from a working Portakabin Lilliput Children’s Centre.

A spokesman for Portakabin said, ‘We’re now into phase two of the Government’s target to create 3,500 Children’s Centres over the next four years.  In order to ensure that annual funding deadlines are met, it’s vital that the people responsible for delivering these programmes demonstrate value-for-money and deliver new Children’s Centres on budget and within the strict timescales.

‘The seminars look to address these issues and will offer advice on how to procure, design and deliver a Children’s Centre.  In addition we will be providing important information on how to ensure that the building meets the value-for-money criteria set out by the Government and complies with Ofsted and National Daycare Standards.  Finally we will provide attendees with practical advice on how to ensure that they meet critical budget and timescale deadlines.

‘We ran some similar seminars earlier in the year and the feedback we received was very positive.  This time we have changed the locations to Portakabin Lilliput Children’s Centres themselves, to demonstrate the quality of the buildings we have to offer and our ability to meet all requirements.’         
                                                              

The seminars will enable attendees to plan their projects more effectively, evaluate and put together proposals to achieve best value approval, as well as provide guidance on designing and building facilities using modern methods of construction.
