Planning applications and Building Control approval
All new buildings and extensions to existing buildings – permanent or temporary – need planning permission from the local council.1 Planning applications must fulfil a range of statutory requirements and most will also need Building Control approval, which covers the health, safety and technical aspects of the proposed construction.

Construction Design and Management (CDM)
Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations set out the statutory requirements for all construction projects above a certain size. You are required to appoint a CDM Coordinator and a Principal Contractor to ensure that any potential hazards in the building process are identified and eliminated, and any risks controlled.
Portakabin can fulfil the specialist roles of Planning Supervisor and Principal Contractor on your behalf. We can also provide advice on health and safety issues relevant to your modular building project – no matter how large or small – to ensure you comply with all relevant regulations.
