The high-performance plastisol steel cladding is bonded to an internal lining of gypsum wallboard by an injected, CFC-free polymer insulating core, combining outstanding insulation with good impact resistance and safe fire performance.
Have an all-welded galvanised steel frame which allows buildings to be sited close to the ground. A thermal blanket with heat reflective foil facings provides effective floor insulation. The composite ’plate-floor’ construction with structural board floor deck and galvanized steel underdrawing provides overall durability and high resistance to point loads.
Of a patented "warm deck" construction, with CFC-free polymer insulation, have an impervious polyester coated steel vapour barrier at ceiling level preventing problems associated with interstitial condensation. The profiled steel roof deck, with a white plastisol finish to reflect solar energy, resists impact damage and has no surface fastenings that can cause roof leaks.
With steel facings and an insulating core avoid seasonal movement and minimize heat loss. Intruder-resistant, anodized aluminium door frames incorporate a thermal break and draughtproof weather seals. Sturdy, high quality door furniture is fitted incorporating a cylinder mortice lock with escape override on the inside and stainless steel hinges.
Featuring top-hung, toughened, tinted glazing to reduce solar gain, the windows have distinctive radius-cornered power-coated aluminium frames. A thermal break prevents condensation problems on the inner surface and effective weather seals avoid draughts. Double-glazing is an option.
Designed to permanent building standards, Pullman series buildings offer impressive levels of performance as standard, particularly in terms of structural strength, thermal insulation, safe fire performance and long-life durability. These can be even further upgraded to suit particular circumstances or building uses.
Is tested in prototypes to twice the design loads. Maximum wind, roof and floor loads are applied concurrently. BBA fatigue tests have shown that wind and thermal cyclical loads will not weaken the structure.
For all the building elements comfortably meets the requirements of The Building Regulations 1991: Conservation of fuel and power. Low heat absorption allows Pullman buildings to reach optimum temperature quickly, reducing heating costs and providing a comfortable, controlled working environment.

Fire-engineerd construction ensures safe fire performance. Non-combustible steel and gypsum wallboard minimize the potential fire load. Walls, ceilings and floor underdrawing have Class O surfaces, roof decks have an FAA rating, and walls have half hour fire resistance. Two-storey buildings have one hour fire resistance between upper and lower floors.
Means no significant maintenance is needed over a considerable period. Cold-formed steel structural members have heavy-duty galvanizing to protect against corrosion. The plastisol coated steel wall and roof cladding has a life expectancy in excess of 40 years in normal environments. Door frames are of anodized aluminium; window frames are of powder coated aluminium. Even the external screw fastenings are of stainless steel.
Pullman buildings can be connected to form two-storey buildings, with external staircases and landings, without structural modification. Individual buildings may be linked to form larger buildings which can be quickly expanded, reduced in size, or completely relocated. Partition walls can be installed to provide a variety of room layouts. They are faced with gypsum wallboard giving good fire performance and sound insulation. Internal doors are of polished hardwood.
Pullman buildings can be readily transported by road on a suitable lorry. The telescopic Lodastrut leg system, fitted to all Pullman buildings, enables them to be positioned by one person using an optional hydraulic jack. Crane handling is facilitated by integral lifting adaptors. Four-leg slings must be used for crane handling, and attached to the lifting points with "D" shackles to BS 3032 (5,080kg safe working load).
Competent, professional advice must be sought on the type and size of foundations required. Pad foundations are suitable for siting Pullman buildings as their total weight is transmitted via the four Lodastrut leg columns. For two-storey buildings, the Lodastrut legs must be fully retracted, upper and lower legs bolted together, and lower units securely anchored to the foundations.
