Requirement: With more than 100 stores being upgraded as part of its national store refurbishment programme, Tesco needed to continue providing a top quality shopping experience to its 10 million customers while building work was underway. This included providing toilets that met the high standards its customer expected to find in store.

Solution: Tesco chose the Portaloo range of toilets because it delivered quality facilities that could be tailored to Tesco's specific requirements. Tesco was approached by other suppliers, but the bespoke solution provided by the Portaloo range proved by far the best on the market.

The units ordered by Tesco have a combination of male and female washrooms, disabled and baby changing facilities. The high internal specification offers maximum levels of comfort and easy-clean fittings, surfaces and flooring.

Portaloo worked closely with Tesco to incorporate the same consumables, such as hand towels, soap dispensers and toilet rolls, that they use in their permanent facilities. This means that Tesco's customers will already be familiar with the washroom features, and will make it easier for the stores to service the units.

With Portaloo responsible for on-site maintenance of the amenities, including the instant repair or replacement of any piece of equipment, Tesco is provided with complete peace-of-mind during its programme of refurbishment.
