One-stop-shop service provides fully furnished permanent-quality offices for 30 people in just four weeks

Tokheim is a leading manufacturer of fuel dispensers, retail automation systems and payment solutions. With a presence in Europe, Middle East, Africa, South America and Asia-Pacific, Tokheim is one of the most recognised brands in the retail fuelling industry.

The company needed to accommodate a new division at its head office in Dundee and interim office space was needed for a team of up to 30 people.

Solution :

Alastair Scott, Business Services Director at Tokheim, says: "We had hired Portakabin buildings before, but not for office space. We really wanted open-plan offices, but we needed them within four weeks. Portakabin scoured its hire fleet for a suitable building that was available at short notice, and came up with a modular building that matched our requirements."

To meet the tight timescale for this project, Portakabin quickly adapted one of its existing buildings to provide the office space required by Tokheim. The building comprised two spacious open-plan offices for 15 people each, with a meeting room in between.

By innovating with its available hire buildings, Portakabin was able to deliver high-quality office facilities within the timeframe specified by Tokheim.

Alastair continues: "The building was completed and handed over on time, just four weeks after we placed the order. The customer service from Portakabin was excellent, with the hire manager and site foreman working hard to ensure the building was ready on schedule and installed without any disruption to our business."

Portakabin provided a complete one-stop-shop service to meet the demands of this project. That meant providing everything from office furniture and data cabling to fire and intruder alarms, as well as all groundworks and access steps for the building. To reduce on-site disruption, the building was craned into place at the weekend. It was quickly connected to services, then fitted out and furnished ready for the new team to move in.
