Requirement: The university-owned nursery in West Cambridge caters for the children of university staff and students. When the nursery's toilet facilities needed to be refurbished, high-quality temporary toilets had to be found so that the nursery could continue to provide its full services during the alteration work.

Solution: With toilet facilities needed for up to 50 pre-school children, there was no room for compromise on quality. The university needed to find the highest standard facilities available.

Catherine Shen from the university's Estates department says: "We conducted a thorough search for a suitable toilet provider and discovered Portaloo via its website. The Portaloo Junior toilets were just what we were looking for and, following a conversation with the Portaloo Hire Centre team, we decided to hire one of these buildings for the six-week refurbishment project."

The Portaloo Junior washroom has been specifically designed for pre-school and primary school children. It provides a fun, welcoming and hygienic environment for young children, with bright, colourful interiors and low-level toilets, sinks and other fixtures. The toilet cubicles have been designed to encourage independence, while facilitating adult supervision where necessary. Safety is crucial when catering for small children, so the Portaloo Junior building incorporates a wealth of safety features, including anti-scald valves and finger guards on doors, to eliminate potential hazards.

Portaloo arranged for the building to be delivered to the nursery on a Saturday, so that normal nursery services were not disrupted. The building was expertly craned into position and fully installed within the day, so it was ready for the children to use when they returned on Monday morning.
