Walters Hexagon

Location: Wednesbury, near Birmingham


Requirement: Walters Hexagon is a leading supplier of screws, rivets and other fasteners to the automotive industry. The company's distribution facility in the West Midlands had grown significantly, and needed to relocate to larger premises. However, the firm's rapid growth meant that certain operations and staff needed to be housed in interim accommodation on the existing site - until the whole business could be moved to new premises.

 

An initial requirement was identified for a goods-in area, attached to the warehouse. Later, the increasing number of staff meant that temporary office space was also needed for the company's accounts administrators.


Solution: Walters Hexagon decided to hire a suitable goods-in building from Portakabin, and was delighted to learn that the company also provided office furniture for hire. This meant Walters Hexagon could hire a complete goods-in office from one supplier.

 

When the company needed yet more office space as its workforce expanded, it did not hesitate to return to Portakabin for the same one-stop-shop solution.

 

Portakabin has now provided two complete office solutions - for two very different functions. The goods-in building and the accounts office were both kitted out with desks, chairs and cupboards; ready for staff to move straight in.


"Being able to hire the interior equipment was a major benefit for us, as we only wanted a short-term solution. We believed we would have to buy new furniture for the Portakabin offices, which would not be needed when we moved in to our new accommodation. However, thanks to Portakabin, we have been able to hire good quality furniture for our staff, so they can continue to work in comfort during this transitional period.
