Location: Grimethorpe, Barnsley

Requirement:  When a fire started in a ground floor classroom of Willowgarth School, it took 70 firefighters to tackle the blaze, following the evacuation of all 750 pupils and teachers. Eight science labs and five classrooms were destroyed and the school required a teaching complex for an estimated 12 months whilst the new building was being built.

Solution: Once the final requirement and layout had been agreed, Portakabin was able to supply the school with two-storey, classroom accommodation including, seven fully fitted science labs with prep rooms, steps and DDA compliant access ramps, and Portaloo toilet blocks. From installation to handover of the building took just 4 weeks.
