In addition, the company’s Fire-Safe buildings offer the highest fire-rating available, which was essential for a site where some cabins would be located within ten metres of existing prison buildings.”

Julian continues: “Another Lend Lease requirement is that ladders must never be used as a primary means of access. The only solution offered by most cabin suppliers for installing two-storey buildings is to use highly expensive lifting equipment. So we were delighted to discover that Portakabin Site Accommodation had developed a new installation technique that enabled buildings to be double stacked from ground level with no need for ladders, and at a tiny fraction of the cost of alternative methods.”
The innovative low-level installation tool was devised by Portakabin Site Accommodation in response to demand for safer, ladder-free installation of two-storey site buildings, eliminating the risk of falls from height.
Lend Lease hired a range of Konstructa Energy-Saver and Fire-Safe buildings, which were fitted out with furniture and painted in Lend Lease corporate livery to create a smart, professional-looking site.
